fridays-listEvery Friday I post a short list of the things I’m reading, listening to, loving and wrestling with:

Here’s what I’m reading right now:

5 Core Essentials Far Too Many Christian Leaders Stupidly Sacrifice by Carey Nieuwhof. Please don’t skip this one. So important for all of us.

THREE QUESTIONS TO ASK OF YOUR CHURCH COMMUNICATIONS by Jonathan Howe (on ThomRainer.com). This article should be required reading…period.

Processed Foods Are Killing the Local Church… by Peter McGowan (on TonyMorganLive.com). Very good way of thinking about the damage of missing out essential raw ingredients.

Church Promotions Triage: A Smarter Way to Decide What Gets Communicated and How by Kem Meyer (again, on TonyMorganLive.com). This is a great read and includes a very good download.

Leading Difficult People by Dan Reiland. Very helpful and a must-understand idea for the toolbox.

Mark Zuckerberg’s Answer to a World Divided by Facebook Is More Facebook by Cade Metz of Wired. HT to Andrew Mason, this is a very, very interesting article and has more than one reference to small group ministry.

Community 101: Reclaiming the Local Church as Community of Oneness byGilbert Bilezikian (Author), John Ortberg (Introduction). Re-reading this one. Very helpful to understand community.

The Culture Engine: A Framework for Driving Results, Inspiring Your Employees, and Transforming Your Workplace by S. Chris Edmonds. Part of my learning path this year.

Here’s what I’m listening to:

Ryan Holiday—Battling Ego on the EntreLeadership podcast. Author of Ego is the Enemy. I’m never disappointed with what’s on this podcast. I highly recommend it.

Christine Comaford – Smart Tribes on the Peter Bregman Leadership Podcast. The Peter Bregman podcast has a different style and feel and is always worth a listen.

21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John Maxwell. I read the hardback years ago. Thought a refresher would be helpful and I was right!

Quotes I’m still wrestling with:

“Argue like you’re right and listen like you’re wrong.” Adam Grant, Originals: How Non-Conformists Move the World

App I’m using:

I’m committed this year to increasing my effectiveness. Nozbe is a leading productivity app. First heard about it from Michael Hyatt. It’s already making a big difference.

My own post I hope you’re reading:
