Leaders Are Learners: What Are You Learning?

Leaders are learners.  You know this right?  Years ago I heard someone say that you could tell when someone stopped learning by the copyright dates on their bookshelves.  I’m not sure that is the only way you can tell, but it’s close.

What are you learning?

Here are the things on my learning list right now:

• The Leadership Challenge, by Kouzes and Posner (I’m re-reading this one in order to better understand building a leadership culture).
• Die Empty by Todd Henry (There are some invaluable ideas in this one that will help develop a list of personal values).
• Switch on Your Brain: The Key to Peak Happiness, Thinking and Health by Dr. Caroline Leaf (I heard about this book on a Catalyst podcast.  Dr. Leaf was an impressive speaker at Catalyst Atlanta).
• Make Your Mark: The Creatives Guide to Building a Business with Impact (this one comes out in about 10 days and will join my stack immediately).
• Catalyst Podcast: This is a never ending source of interesting ideas.
• HBR Ideacast: This podcast is a good source of innovation conversation.
• RadioLab Podcast: This is one of the best podcasts.  A great source of lateral thinking.
• TED Radio Hour: I love this podcast.  Well produced and packed with great ideas.
