Hey Mark, I’d love to go to Northpoint because I have moved from a big church, with a small group program and network which we were a part of and loved, to a small church with a small group program that is kind if listless. I would take my pastor, too, who is interested in getting better at this stuff.

  2. Kem on October 1, 2012 at 5:48 am

    Hi, Mark,
I would love to go to the conference because I have never been to a live small group conference. I have had coaching with you and I have done the 12 conference but I have not had the chance to interact with small group leaders from all over the country!
As a small group director I believe I need to continually be learning!! Blessings!

  3. Dan Brubacher on October 1, 2012 at 6:25 am

Hi Mark, I would love to go to the conference because I greatly respect North Point’s ministry and would love to hear firsthand how they do groups. I learned a lot from Stanley and Willits’ “Creating Community” and would appreciate knowing more. Thanks.

  4. Debo on October 1, 2012 at 6:49 am

I would love to attend the Re:Group Conference; what an awesome opportunity to learn and apply key principles of group life, with teachers like Andy Stanley and his team! Then, I would fly to Lancaster PA for the Catalyst One Day Conference to hear from Andy again; wow, what a thought! *HUGE smile* Thanks for the opportunity!

  5. Nick Schonlau on October 1, 2012 at 7:08 am

Mark, I have been in ministry for 5 years now. I have had the opportunity to attend a couple of online conferences, but i have never been to a conference with other people. I feel like this is a missed opportunity for myself and my ministry. I would love the chance to head down to Georgia to hear Andy Stanley. Thanks for the chance to win!

  6. Kevin on October 1, 2012 at 7:10 am

    Mark,
I would love to attend the re:groups Conference at Northpoint after becoming a community life pastor at our church this past summer, after being in student ministry for the last 11 years. With the new learning curve, this resource would be a blessing to not just me but our church family as well. Thanks for the opportunity.

  7. Libby on October 1, 2012 at 7:24 am

Learning and collaboration are key to strengthening small groups. As part of the Big C Church, we’d all find value in attending this conference to explore new ways to engage our people and inspire growth. I would love the opportunity to attend, along with another LifeChurch.tv staff member, so we can share what we gain with our multiple campuses, pastors, and the network of churches we resource!

  8. Craig Tucker on October 1, 2012 at 7:35 am

I would love to attend the re:group conference at North Point. However, we have been told by our Executive Business Pastor that the funds are frozen for attending conferences due to budget shortfalls. North Point has served as an inspiration to me as a small groups pastor to think out of the box as I have read and re-read Creating Community and have adapted their Group Link to two different churches to connect hundreds of unconnected to groups. We have a goal to connect 80% of our attending congregation to groups in the next 3-5 years and currenlty have around 42% of adults connected. This opportunity to attend re:group would provide needed inspiration and vision for providing the leadership necessary for achieving the goals to which God has called us. Thank you for you consideration!

Mark, I am the shepherding pastor of Christ City Church in Birmingham, AL. We are a new church plant and are truly trying to become a church of groups…I am a new pastor and new to this concept…I desperately need the help. God Bless!

  10. Ethan Johnson on October 1, 2012 at 8:09 am

Our church is in the process of revamping our Community Group ministry. A jolt of goodness from North Point would be most welcome. My Youth Pastor has benefited greatly from the ‘Orange’ conference, and I’m sure I would benefit from this one, as well. Thanks for the giveaway!!

  11. Jamie Bragg on October 1, 2012 at 8:19 am

I would love to attend this conference at North Point! I am 23 years old on staff at a church plant in Connecticut and we just celebrated our 3rd Birthday!! I am one of only two people on staff, so I handle a lot of the day-to-day operations as my boss (lead pastor) handles the care, vision, and direction of the church. I have been at my church for 9 months and was given a number of responsibilities right from the start. One of those was to take over all of our small groups. This is a job that has become my favorite part of the ministry that I do here. Being able to train leaders, connect people to the local church, and see people grow closer to God through groups has been amazing. Because I am younger and because we are still a small, young church we are still figuring out the exact direction our small groups should go. We believe that the model we are using right now is effective. But, I want to see our ministry flourish and more people being able to experience our small group ministry. I believe that this conference has the potential to be life-changing for me to learn from some of the smartest people in all of the world in this topic! I hope that you will consider me for this prize as it would be a great time of learning and growth for myself and my Sr. Pastor.

  12. Don Lourcey on October 1, 2012 at 8:37 am

Hey Mark. I would love to attend the Re:Group Conference. I am an avid follower of how God is using Andy’s church to grow disciples (and using you as well for that matter); I am the Grow Director at my church. It is a fairly traditional church in terms of the group dynamic, and what it means to build and live in community. I am leaning on God for His wisdom and guidance. I don’t want to create something our church is not, but to capitalize on the strengths a Sunday School culture and a Wednesday Night group culture. I feel I can learn from the team at North Point how to do this. Thanks for this opportunity.

  13. Terry McHugh on October 1, 2012 at 9:01 am

Mark, I was just looking at this conference yesterday before I saw the contest and would absolutely LOVE to go. We are planning a “group link” for January (our first ever) and I am looking for all the training I can for our team. I serve as Executive Pastor & oversee small groups/discipleship and it would be an incredible opportunity to bring a person we believe God is calling as our small groups pastor who has a lot of passion and gifting around small groups but no formal training. I think the conference would energize him & help him get to the next level.

  14. John Wood on October 1, 2012 at 11:43 am

Hey Mark, I would love to go to Re:Group to see first hand the inner workings of GroupLInk. We just held our first ever Grouplink and have a lot to learn as we try to change the culture of our church.

  15. Javin Proctor on October 1, 2012 at 11:51 am

We’re doing our first group campaign this fall, and would love to learn more from North Point and their group link technique. Read Creating Community and seeing it live is a great offer.

  16. Ruth on October 1, 2012 at 11:56 am

I am Assistant to the Director of Small Groups at our northern NJ non- denom church. We have new people come every week. We need to show them the hospitality of Christ, and we need to do that well. We want our Small Groups to shine! We need help!

  17. Buff McNickle on October 1, 2012 at 1:10 pm

Because I love you deeply and I am broke and never above getting on my knees to beg….plus I’m fixing to go plant a church and want to know more about small groups and learn from the best so me and the crazy guy going to plant with me are dying to go

  18. Ben Schaer on October 1, 2012 at 1:44 pm

Why I would like to win is a long story that starts on a dusty prairie in southwest Texas. Most of the story is actually pretty boring, but in the end that little child lived, and he met his real father. It was a powerful story. Fast-forward an arbitrary amount of time until today, and the story continues. Just a few short years after giving my life to Christ, I am joining a few people and planting a church, God willing, next year in a big city. It will be tough, and we are but few, so we are striving to be as prepared as possible. We know the foundation of our church will be in small groups, and we know we’ll see the biggest life changes come out of those groups. I know mine did. This conference will help lay a foundation for us as we strive to form bonds and build bridges into a dark community. It will be a true blessing to be able to attend.
P.S.– Attached is a picture of a cute kitten in a Christmas hat. Look how adorable it is.

  19. Kristin Lagus on October 1, 2012 at 5:44 pm

I am the director of small groups at a Minnesota church. I would love to attend the Re:Group small group conference to learn more from NorthPoint, and to see how their assimilation process GroupLink really works. Not knowing this conference was coming this year, we didn’t budget for it, and I would love the opportunity to attend and bring someone else along with me. I think what we learn could have big impacts on our ministry and on connecting more people – beyond the “usual suspects”.

  20. Chris McCall on October 1, 2012 at 10:38 pm

I have been in groups ministry for a year and think this would be a great opportunity to not only learn from Northpoint, but a
chance to network and learn from others at the conference. Not knowing about Re:Group I was unable to budget for it, but an opportunity like this will enable myself and a lay leader to attend the conference. Thank you for this opportunity!

  21. nina lee on October 2, 2012 at 7:22 am

I would like to win this because my fifty life groups are in trouble and I don’t know how to save them

  22. Kathy Harter on October 2, 2012 at 7:41 am

My prayer is that this conference would fulfill a few dreams I have for our ministry. 1) to connect both our ‘old-timers’ and those beyond the ‘usual suspects’ within our church; 2) to identify and break the ceiling on small group involvement; 3) to construct a defined discipleship pathway through small groups; 4) to ‘fan the flame’ of the leaders and staff who would attend this conference, getting the ministry year off to an exciting start.

  23. Tim Ghali on October 2, 2012 at 10:24 am

I’m glad that conferences like these are still being done. Can I use my “entry” for Jaime Bragg – the church planter from CT? I don’t know him but I serve in small groups in New England too. I know ministry has its challenges everywhere, the Northeast is a tricky animal and long story short – community is so crucial here. Thanks for putting this on.

  24. Sherry on October 2, 2012 at 10:40 am

I am one of the small group shepherds and also lead the food pantry team (also run like a sm. group) in our church here in northern NJ. Need to get back up on cutting edge thought about small groups and would like to have a refreshed vision for this ministry. Live on a fixed income so this would be the only way I could come. Thanks for your ministry.

  25. markchowell on October 2, 2012 at 10:57 am

Hi Tim…if you win you can use your entry any way you’d like. BUT…you’re not entered until you’ve Tweeted or posted to Facebook the contest phrase.

  29. billclark on October 2, 2012 at 12:23 pm

I would love to go to this conference in order to take some folks with me who are considering launching small groups in their church! Thanks for the awesome contest and opportunity!!! I appreciate all your posts. You challenge me and make me want to “argue with you” but in the end, I am so glad to be challenged to look at groups differently.

  30. Suzy Gilliland on October 2, 2012 at 12:41 pm

    I’d
like to WIN! I’ve been striving to develop a small group culture in my
church for 4 years now. We feel we’re on the verge of something great
God is doing and Small Groups are the key to transforming lives. But
personally feeling overwhelmed and distracted; I need focus. Can’t let
God down! Can’t let my church down! Too many lives are at stake. This
may be just what I need to Re-charge! Or Re-Group!

  31. Jamie Bragg on October 3, 2012 at 6:18 am

    Thanks for the vote Tim!

  32. Judson on October 3, 2012 at 7:18 am

Our church is 2 years old and we’ve started to take some major steps in our small groups ministry and coaching and I’ve set it as a goal to go to my first small groups conference this year to grow in my leadership and be able to bring back ideas and resources for our church. I’m ready for it, but not sure if we can pay my way, being a new church plan that runs lean as it is.

    Thanks!

  33. Mike Laird on October 3, 2012 at 8:11 am

I just got hired as the small group pastor of a church in great Boston this summer… I ran a small groups promo and 175 people/18 groups are starting this week! I need help: leadership development, leader training, structure, taking things to the net level… help!

  34. Katherine Gonzalez on October 3, 2012 at 9:41 am

I feel that if I won it would be a fantastic learning experience for me to continue learning on something I’m already so passionate about!! It would be a great networking tool and it’s always good to know more people in what you want to do! :). I’ve recently came a coach for small grps with Parkview and I am totally looking fwd to jump in and let God work thru me to help His children have a relationship with him. 🙂 I absolutely love stuff like this, it really fires me up to do and be more. Just recently quit my job to focus more time to God and his people. This would be perfect! Thank you!! 🙂

  35. Michael C. Mack on October 3, 2012 at 9:44 am

Well, Mark, looks to me like you have your work cut out for you! Thanks for doing this. Really awesome idea. I’d like to go and can’t afford to this year, but I can’t beat many of the stories in your comments. If you need a panel for deciding who gets to go, or if the person who wins wnats to share their 2nd ticket, please let me know!

  36. Ken Powers on October 3, 2012 at 9:59 am

RISING Church is a new community of faith in northern Gwinnett County. Our vision for sdult ministry is that we will be a church OF small groups, not a church WITH small groups. Would love to get 2 free admissions for key volunteers leading that ministry!

  37. Dennis on October 3, 2012 at 10:12 am

I would love to win the tickets to Re:Group because I am praying and fasting that I might win them, and will continue to fast until I hear that I have won. Oh, and because we have a small group ministry that is growing despite being so poorly organized. If we don’t do something to address this, we are headed for trouble. Thanks!

  38. Wick Anderson on October 3, 2012 at 11:35 am

Because for years I’ve had “..& Small Groups” in my job title….but my resourcing in that area has been, “Here’s a good book.” I’ve tried to do a “Small Group Leaders Resourcing Day”….but don’t feel I have much to offer….and I think it shows. Like standing naked in front of a small-group-uniform-requiring crowd. I’d love to see what God can do in our congregation if I offer Him that bit of myself to grow!!!

  39. Chad Billington on October 3, 2012 at 11:43 am

I would like to go because it has been 4 years since I was at any conference concerning groups. We started our groups ministry 4 years ago and our questions are no longer about, ‘how to we start?’ but are about ‘how do we develop leaders?’ ‘how do we encourage groups to multiply?’ ‘how do we engage the many people who are not finding a place in a group?’

The re:group conference has breakouts on these things. I also want to take one of my key leaders with me, as it has come to the place where I really need to develop a good team to help move community forward in our church. I need to make leaders of leaders, and I believe the person I have in mind could help us a lot in that regard.

I don’t have budget for this right now, and I’d really like to get there.

    Thanks for offering,
    Chad Bilington
