Be an Observer, Not a Watcher

Take the time today to be an observer. ¬†Truly understanding people–their motivations, their hopes, their fears–will enable you to design a strategy that will connect beyond the usual suspects.

Loved this line from New York Times writer Peter Leschak:

“All of us are watchers–of television, of time clocks, of traffic on the freeway–but few of us are observers. ¬†Everyone is looking, not many are seeing.”

Let us all be observers, and not merely watchers.
