Miss the Live Demonstration of an Online Small Group Connection?
In yesterday's post I explained how we are using Zoom to connect unconnected people (while we are limited by COVID-19 to online services and online groups).
Yesterday I also held a live demonstration of how we're using several of the features of Zoom (registration, join from anywhere, breakout rooms, etc.). If you missed it, you can watch it right here (Note: In order to watch the full video, you will need to download it. In order to download the file, click "OPEN" in the upper right).
Update: The video is a good representation of how it works (from the vantage point of the host). When participants get sent to the Breakout Rooms, you'll still be watching from my vantage point. I pop into every breakout room. And then return to the main room.
While we're on the subject, let me point out that we're also using Zoom to hold a virtual Guest Central after every online service. With Breakout Rooms enabled, we can provide a link from the online service to the Zoom Meeting. Once a guest arrives in the Zoom Meeting they can be welcomed, have a brief conversation with the host and then be passed to a Breakout Room where someone from the Guest Central team can provide a next step that fits their interest or need.
Another thing I pointed out in the live demonstration was that how we use Zoom and how we run the online connection changes almost every time we use it. We're discovering new ways to provide a better experience and better ways of connecting unconnected people.
Finally, since we don't know how long this will last or how quickly things will return to normal (or if they only return to the new normal), it's a good idea to use this time to innovate, test and reimagine.
